  6.  This    single   word   characterizes
  7. today's  press  perfectly.   Not  only
  8. money  makes  the world go around, but
  9. as   it   seems   sensations   aswell.
  10. Especially,  when  readers  buy mostly
  11. the    magazine   with   the   wildest
  12. sensations.
  13.  
  14. Just  think  about the things happened
  15. in  the  UK  some  months  ago.   With
  16. special  cameras  hidden  in a fitness
  17. center      Princess     Diana     was
  18. photographed.    Of   course   it  was
  19. against  her  individual human rights,
  20. but in the hard competiton most of the
  21. magazines  have  lost their honour.  A
  22. big  scandal  was made from this sadly
  23. not  unique  case, and a lot of people
  24. were against the magazine.

  26. Since we know the diskmagazine RAW, we
  27. can  also  say  a perfect exaple about
  28. the mentioned case from our world, the
  29. scene.   RAW  published the first real
  30. sensations,  what  shocked its readers
  31. and  helped  to  reach the top to Lord
  32. Helmet  and his Staff.  From about one
  33. year   another  typical  "interesting"
  34. mags  were  born,  especially Upstream
  35. wants to take RAW's place, not only in
  36. the charts, but also in the publishing
  37. of wild stories and happenings.

  39. I  agree  with  the  opinions  of most
  40. journalists,  who  say that sensations
  41. sell  the  mag,  but  I also share the
  42. opinion  of  those  who  point  on the
  43. dangers of sensations.

  60. There  are  two  things facing in this
  61. problem,  first  the  personal rights,
  62. second   the  freedom  of  the  press.
  63. Staying   in  the  mentioned  example,
  64. Princess  Diana's  image  was damaged,
  65. one  member  of  the  royal family was
  66. disturbed while weight-lifting and the
  67. photo  was published!  This act passed
  68. the  limits and a high amount of money
  69. was payed by the magazine.

  71. As   I   see,  this  case  is  not  so
  72. different  than  the scene sensations.
  73. There  are  a lot of articles nowadays
  74. about  personal  secrets,  legends are
  75. ruined  and  as main difference in the
  76. scene  there's  nothing to control the
  77. content  of  magazines.  We don't have
  78. written   laws   or   courts,  so  the
  79. responsibility  of  scene mags is even
  80. greater  than  in  the  outer  world's
  81. press.   The  scene  needs  fresh news
  82. (positive sensations) but NOT articles
  83. about a famous scene person's personal
  84. life (girlfriends, drug problems etc.)
  85. unless  he  is  the  one  who wants to
  86. publish them...

  88. The task is double:

  90. .   Editors  and article-writers have
  91. to  think  over the possible effect of
  92. their  articles  and  especially  main
  93. editors  have  to deselect the harmful
  94. ones.    (forgetting   the   lack   of
  95. articles, that they lose one article)

  97. .   The readers have to publish their
  98. reactions,  in  case  they are against
  99. that kind of articles.
